I am working on my Pruden genealogy and wondered if anyone has any information about the founder of Prudenville. I do know that my g-g-grandfather was John Pruden and I know that he lived at one point in Clare County. The family has wondered for years if there is a connection. I'm hoping someone has the answers.

I was surfing and found this sight. Thanks for all the pictures and write up. My Grandfather was Harry Blower, and Grandma was Helen. I lived with them and went to school all my life up there. I was in the first class to Graduate from Our Lady of The Lake Catholic school. We had the building with the house on top of it across from the Music Box. The Kelly's where best friends with us. Grandpa built a slid that went from M-55 into Houghton Lake. He was good friends with Earl Johnson (Johnson's Resort) I could go on for days about Prudenville. A lot of people don't know about the pig farm in Prudenville, that ran into Denton creek. One of the gun smith's in Prudenville use to open safes for the Purple Gang. Thanks again. Jim Osterman

My Grandparents lived in Loxley, My grandmother was louise Buensch, My Mother Frieda and her brother and sisters Marie Louise,John,Martha,Dora,went to a one room school in 1920-19270r 28. They knew The Bowman Family and use to take horses to Barney Well to drink. Have some old photos of Bowmans and Bear Creek ranch or Farm. my uncle and 2 aunts where born in Houghton Lake. Do you know where we can write for a copy of their birth records.
